Cancelling your account: what happens, end of cycle, and undoing it
what happens, step by step, if you decide to leave Fold, and how to undo it while there's still time.
Cancelling your account is different from cancelling a single subscription (see "Invoices and payments"): it means leaving Fold entirely. Only the owner of the company can request it, from Account › Privacy.
Before you confirm
The screen shows you, with your account's real data, exactly what will happen: the date each of your subscriptions actually ends, what gets switched off that day, and what stops being charged. To confirm, you need to enter your password (and your two-factor code if you have it enabled) and type the phrase "DAR DE BAJA".
When service actually ends
Service doesn't stop immediately: it keeps working normally until the last day you've already paid for on your subscription (or the latest one, if you have more than one). Until that date, everything stays the same and nothing more is charged after it.
What gets switched off that day
- Your plan stops providing service: no more monthly charges.
- Any active automations stop; their fees stop being charged.
- Your Google Drive, OneDrive, or Dropbox connections are removed.
- Team sessions are closed: the account becomes view-and-download only.
- Any Messengers installed in your office stop uploading files.
What doesn't get refunded
Setup fees you've already paid for automations (the initial one-time payment) are not refunded.
Deleting your data
After the end-of-service date, the account stays in view-and-download mode until the deletion period set out in our privacy policy is reached; on that day everything is deleted for real, including in backups once they rotate. Only invoices carrying your tax details are kept, for as long as the law requires. Before that day arrives you can download a full copy of your data (see "Exporting and deleting your data").
Undoing the cancellation
Up until the end-of-service date, you can undo it at any time, either from the app itself or by replying to the notice email. Undoing it means nothing has been deleted or changed: everything stays exactly as before.
If you're on your own contract terms
If your account has special terms arranged directly with David, cancelling those terms is handled by talking to him directly; the app only cancels what you manage yourself by card.
