Refer a company
how your referral code works, what the company you refer gets, and what you get in return.
From Account › Refer a company you have your own code (in the form FOLD-YOURNAME-XXXX) to share with other companies.
What the referred company gets
When a new company signs up with your code, they receive 100 free questions, as a one-time block, during their first paid month.
What you get
Once the company you referred has completed its first full paid month (30 days from their first payment), you start earning a discount percentage — which varies by that company's plan — that applies only to the price of:
- the custom features you request (see "Requesting an automation"), and
- the setup fee of catalog automations (see "The automation catalog").
The discount never affects your own monthly plan fee — that's always charged in full.
Conditions
- It only counts if you (the referrer) are on a paid plan.
- If the referred company stops paying or cancels, its contribution stops counting.
- The combined discount from all your referrals has a shared cap: while Fold is in its launch phase (until there are more than 100 paying companies), the cap is higher; after that it drops to a permanent, lower cap, for good. The exact figures for each catalog tier and for this cap are always on the "Refer a company" screen itself, which updates if anything changes.
Anti-fraud checks
Fold checks that the company you refer isn't you under a different name: a different tax ID, a different email domain (except generic ones like gmail.com), and a different payment card. There's also a limit on how many sign-ups a single code can generate per day.
When the discount starts counting
You'll get an email letting you know that referral now counts, with the exact percentage applying from that point on. You can see the full tree of your referrals and each one's status (counting, cancelled, still in its qualifying period) from the same screen.
