Connecting Google Drive, OneDrive, or Dropbox
how to connect your company's cloud storage so Fold can read from it directly, with read-only access.
From Account › Connections you can connect your company's Google Drive, OneDrive, or Dropbox so Fold can read your files directly from there, instead of uploading them by hand every time.
Always read-only
The connection is read-only: Fold never changes, moves, or deletes anything in your Drive, OneDrive, or Dropbox account. You choose exactly which folders or files it can read (using Google's own picker, or the equivalent for each provider) — it's never given access to your entire storage by default.
Who can connect
Only the company's owner or an admin can connect a new account or remove an existing connection.
How it's protected
Each connection is encrypted independently for your company: nobody else, not even another company inside Fold, can access what you've connected. You can revoke access from the app at any time, and it's also removed automatically if you cancel your account.
Your plan's limits
Every plan has a limit on how many folders or files you can have selected at once, and how much can be read per day. These are always shown on the Connections screen itself.
What file types Fold reads today
Today Fold reads Excel files (.xlsx), Google Sheets, and CSV files. Other formats, like PDF or Word, are marked "pending": they're not read from a connection yet, even though the connection itself already works.
If your plan doesn't include connections
The Free plan doesn't include this feature; if you downgrade from a plan that did to one that doesn't, any connections you had are paused (not read, not deleted) and start working again automatically once you upgrade.
If a permission expires
If a provider ever revokes the permission (for example, after a long period unused), Fold flags it on screen so you can reconnect it in a couple of clicks.
