What business alerts does Fold send, and how does it know about them?

From the Core plan, Fold watches (read-only, never touching anything) your tax deadline calendar, deadlines with a due date, incoming invoices that look duplicated, and pending or overdue payments — and warns you with the row and source file of each one.

From the Core plan (cumulative: also on every higher plan), Fold watches four business things, always in READ-ONLY mode — it never writes, merges or marks anything as paid on its own —:

  1. Tax deadline calendar: filing models and dates.
  2. Deadlines: any of your tables with a due date.
  3. Duplicated incoming invoices: flagged as "possible duplicate", with both source rows, never merged or dismissed automatically.
  4. Pending and overdue payments: from your outgoing invoices table.

The tax calendar, with an important caveat

Every tax deadline you see is labelled "unconfirmed, check with your accountant" until David (Fold's owner) has confirmed the full table of filing models with his own accountant. This is intentional: we'd rather show a deadline with that label than one that looks certain and isn't. Whenever something can't be read safely (an ambiguous amount, an impossible date), it's set aside and counted, never guessed at.

How they reach you

Alerts appear on the app's Alerts tab and also feed the weekly report (see "Weekly report") and the monthly dashboard. The alerts traffic light is available from the Business plan.
