The automation catalog
what Fold's fixed-price catalog automations are and how to sign up for one.
Besides requesting a custom feature (see "Requesting an automation"), Fold has a catalog of ready-made automations, with a fixed, known-upfront price, instead of going through the discovery-and-quote process. You'll find them under the Features tab.
What's in the catalog
- Invoices and statements read with AI: Fold pulls the data out of each document and keeps it organized. Includes a set number of documents per month; if you need more, you can add an extra block.
- Customer portal: a portal where each of your customers sees their own information.
- Data transfer between systems: data moves on its own from one program (or spreadsheet) to another, no copy-pasting.
- Automated alerts: Fold notifies you when something worth knowing happens.
Each one has a one-time setup payment and a monthly fee on top of your plan. The exact prices for each are always shown on the Features screen, tax included.
If your plan includes one for free
The Professional and Enterprise plans include the fee for one or more catalog automations as part of their price: you only pay the setup (with your applicable discount) and there's no separate subscription.
Discounts on setup
Your plan's discount (if your plan has one) and your "Refer a company" discount (see that article) add up, with a combined cap. The monthly fee is always charged in full — discounts only ever apply to the setup payment.
How it starts working
When you sign up for a catalog automation, Fold asks you the questions needed to tailor it to your company (the same discovery process as a custom feature, but with the price already locked in). It starts working once it's built and paid for — never before both.
Cancelling a catalog automation
Its fee is cancelled at the end of the period you've already paid for; the rest of your plan is unaffected. If it was one of the ones included free in your plan, it's cancelled immediately, since there's nothing to cancel on the billing side.
