Fold isn't just a chat: it's your team's app

Fold installs on an office computer (or opens in the browser, depending on how you deploy it) and stays there, available to your whole team: a panel where people ask questions, see which files it knows about, and manage its connections to your other programs. It isn't a loose chat window — it's an application with its own login, its own per-person permissions, and its own updates.

How it works underneath, in 3 steps

1. It connects to your files. Excel, CSV, or, once you sign up, Google Drive, OneDrive and Dropbox too, with read-only access.
2. It learns what each column means. The first time it sees a new file, it suggests what each piece of data means, and you confirm it before it's used.
3. Your team asks, the app answers with the source. The answer comes with the exact file and row it came from, so anyone can check it.

Who can sign in, and with what permissions

Inside the app there are four roles: the owner, who pays the account; the admin, who manages the team, the data, the connections and the automations, but doesn't pay; the member, who asks questions and works with what's already set up; and read-only, for anyone who just needs to look things up. You invite and remove people from inside the app itself, without emailing anyone outside it.

How many people fit on each plan

The free plan is for 1 person. Basic allows up to 3, Standard up to 8, Professional up to 20, and Enterprise has no limit on people. If you downgrade, extra people are frozen (no login) until you upgrade again or the owner chooses who stays active — nobody gets deleted.

A Windows installer, with automatic updates

The app has its own installer for Windows, with automatic, signed updates: every improvement that ships arrives by itself, with nobody having to download anything by hand. Sign-up and payment inside the app are opening very soon; in the meantime, you can join the list to be notified the day you can create an account.

What files and programs it connects to

From day one, Fold reads the Excel and CSV files you upload to it. Once you sign up, it also connects to Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive and Dropbox, always with read-only access: you choose which folders it can see, and you can revoke access at any time, from inside the app. SharePoint and a generic connector for any other company program are being built and are coming soon; for anything that doesn't fit those, its own connection gets built as a custom automation.

If the data isn’t there, it says so

If a piece of data isn't in the files it knows about, the app says so — «not found» — instead of filling the gap with something plausible. And if two rows could both be the answer, it shows you both instead of picking one. That's the rule that lets you actually use what it answers to make a decision, instead of double-checking it every time.

Plans and pricing for the app

You start on the free plan, no card required: 2 questions a day, up to 10 a week. Paid plans run from €49.99 a month (500 questions) to €249.99 a month (10,000 questions), with an AI that can chain several steps together from the Standard plan up. Prices are shown before tax: the tax that applies to your company's country is added when you pay. No lock-in — you cancel from inside the app.

If something's missing, you request it from inside the app

When the app doesn't do something you need, you don't have to leave it to ask: you describe what you need, with what data and which systems, and you're told the price and the timeline before accepting anything. A small tweak starts at €59.99 and 3 business days; a new feature starts at €399.99 and 10 business days; and for something large, a free 30-minute call, with a quote afterwards.

Which businesses this works for

The same app works for any business that runs on data tables: an accounting firm with its rates and case files, a transport company with its warehouse spreadsheet, a repair shop with its quotes, a retailer with its catalog. What changes from one to another is which files each one connects, not how the app works underneath.

What you see the moment you open it

Opening the app shows a panel with three parts: the chat where your team asks questions, the list of files Fold already knows about (with the date it last read each one), and the active connections, with a button to revoke access to any of them on the spot. There are no hidden settings screens: what a member sees is a simpler version of what the admin manages, just without the ability to change the setup.

Where it's already running

The same mechanism behind the app — read, check, answer with the source — is already working in two real cases: an accounting firm that's stopped typing in its invoices and statements, and a logistics company whose clients check their own stock from their phone.
